Statewide Enforcement took place during National School Bus Safety Week
BOSTON (Wednesday, October 24, 2012)– Today, dozens of communities across Massachusetts participated in the MassDOT Registry of Motor Vehicles’ annual Operation Yellow Blitz during National School Bus Safety Week.
Yellow Blitz is an appeal by the RMV, local law enforcement, and school pupil transportation providers to draw attention to the problem of vehicles illegally passing school buses that are picking-up and discharging school pupils.
The effort caught 32 motorists illegally passing school buses. Violators face a $250 fine for their first offense.
MassDOT Registrar of Motor Vehicles Rachel Kaprielian participated in the Blitz this morning in Lexington where one violation was issued.
