Traffic Advisory: Detour of Main Street (Route 119) in Ashby Next Week

Starting Wednesday, February 3 through Friday, February 5, 2016 a section of Main Street (Route 119) in Ashby will be closed to traffic and detoured to ensure the safety of the traveling public.   The purpose of the closure and detour is the result of the required test boring work associated with the Reconstruction of Route 119 in Ashby.  The detour will also provide a safe working environment for workers operating the boring equipment.

During the detour:

·        Traffic heading westbound on Route 119 will turn right on Wheeler Road and bear left to continue on Turnpike Road in approximately .3 miles.  Once on Turnpike Road, traffic will continue straight for approximately 1.4 miles, passing County Road on their left.  Traffic will then turn left onto Greenville Road (Route 31) and travel .6 miles, passing Damon Road on their right,  to reach Route 119.

·        Traffic heading eastbound on Route 119 will continue straight on Greenville Road (Route 31) for approximately .9 miles, passing County Road on their right.  Traffic will then turn right onto Turnpike Road and continue straight for approximately 1.7 miles to reach Route 119.

·        Both detour routes will be appropriately signed and coordinated by police details.  All motorists are urged to pay close attention to signage and directions by police.
