Bridge Repairs Starting Monday April 14th
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will begin repairs on Route 28 over the Bass River Bridge in Dennis and Yarmouth beginning on Monday, April 14, 2014. Preparation work to repair the bridge will take place during weekdays beginning at 7 AM for the next two weeks, and will consist of temporary barrier deployment, painting of pavement markings, and the installation of temporary supports. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during the repairs, except while the temporary barrier and pavement markings are being placed, during which time brief interruptions should be expected. Access to the sidewalk will be prohibited during the first phase of the repairs. The bridge repairs are taking place to repair the deteriorated reinforced concrete piers. The first phase of the repairs is expected to continue into the first week of July
MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays due to ongoing work.
