Violation Processing System

Notice: If you travelled on MassDOT roadways after October 28, 2016 without a valid E-ZPass account, the registered owner of the vehicle you are driving will receive a Pay By Plate MA invoice not a violation. You will receive your invoice approximately 5 - 10 business days after your trip. When you receive your invoice you can pay online.


You may choose to appeal a ticket or violation issued by MassDOT. Once you have completed the appeal process your appeal will be submitted to MassDOT for judgment. All appeals will be responded to within sixty (60) days.

By using a violation number, you can appeal some or all of your outstanding violations.

Online Appeals are available daily except between the hours of 12:00 Midnight and 2:30 am, have your violation notices ready.
