About This project

Welcome

MassDOT is conducting a study of the Route 79/Davol Street Corridor in Fall River. This study will strive to balance transportation needs, and improve connectivity within the corridor to support economic development opportunities. This website provides information about this project, including ways for the public to get involved. We will be periodically posting updates of upcoming meetings as well as material developed during the study. We encourage your involvement and input throughout the study.

Background

This study will build upon the work done in the Route 79 / Davol Street Transportation Study, completed in June 2008. A primary recommendation of that study was to conduct a more detailed review, analysis and refinement of three developed alternatives. The study will identify and evaluate regional transportation impacts, economic and land use feasibility, environmental constraints, and coordination with the South Coast Rail project. In addition, this study may develop and analyze additional alternatives that would meet the project goals.
