Suspensions & Hearings: Bad Payments Made to the Registry

If your license, right to operate, or vehicle registration was suspended due to a bad payment (for example, you paid with a check that was later rejected or you paid with a credit card and later cancelled the payment with the bank), you must make full restitution before your license, right to operate, or vehicle registration can be restored.

A $15.00 fee is charged for all bad payments. A $100.00 fee is also required to reinstate your license or right to operate. A $100.00 fee is required to reinstate your vehicle registration. These fees are payable by cash, certified check, or money order only. Bad check payments may be made at any full service RMV branch office or mailed (Do Not Mail Cash) to:
