RMV Expands Customer Services at Easthampton Branch
(Boston, MA)-The Registry of Motor Vehicles has doubled the work capacity at the Easthampton branch to better serve customers who are making the shift from the Hadley office which closed May 13, 2009. Registrar Rachel Kaprielian said many Pioneer Valley customers also have the option to go “online” instead of “in line” to get even quicker RMV service.
“For those who find it necessary to go to Easthampton, we’ve added customer conveniences to make the experience as pleasant and efficient as possible,” said Registrar Kaprielian. “However, most RMV transactions can easily be performed on the Internet, so we are encouraging all of our customers to check-out the RMV’s “Express Lane” before you pay our branches a visit.”
In addition to deploying Hadley employees to Easthampton, the RMV also added three new dual work stations and one registration station to handle license and registration transactions. The public waiting area was extended into the concourse of the Eastworks Building with benches and a new wait time viewing screen while a new two-level ADA compliant writing table was added in the lobby.
The RMV has also expanded the road test schedule at the Easthampton location with the addition of the road test examiner previously assigned to Hadley. Beginning June 1, road tests will go from two days a week to every week day in Easthampton.
Customers who need to take permit tests will also find other conveniences in Easthampton with the addition of three ATS touch-screen kiosks that have now been enclosed in a private area of the RMV.
