RMV Announces 2007 Low Number Plate Lottery

205 License Plates Up for Grabs in Annual Lottery

The Registry of Motor Vehicles today announced the 2007 Low Number License Plate Lottery. Applicants in this year's lottery will be vying for 205 of the most coveted Massachusetts license plates, including 137, 1056, 1Z and A59.

"With thousands of applicants each year, the Low Number Plate Lottery continues to generate considerable interest among Massachusetts residents," said Registrar Anne L. Collins. "In addition to announcing 205 winners, we will, once again, be providing 25 people with a second chance in our runner up alternate drawing."

Applications are available in RMV branches and online at www.massrmv.com. All entries must be mailed and postmarked by August 3, 2007. Postcard entries will not be accepted. Only one entry per applicant will be accepted. Winners who do not register their vehicle with their winning lottery plate by December 31, 2007 will automatically forfeit their plate. All forfeited plates will be offered to the alternate drawing winners.

Details of the drawing will be available later this summer. Applicants should check the Registry website, www.massrmv.com, for official drawing details. Lottery winners will be posted on the RMV website after the drawing.

In 2006, more than 4,000 people submitted applications.
