Dear School Superintendents and High School Principals,
My name is Gene Carabine and I am the Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Rider Education Program (MREP) at the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV).
We are dedicated to making the state’s roadways safer for motorcycle riders. Our mission is to reduce the number of motorcycle fatalities and injuries through awareness, training, and education for both motorcycle riders and automobile drivers.
It is with great pleasure that we invite all of your high school students to participate in our 2005 Motorcycle Awareness Poster Campaign, sponsored by the Massachusetts MREP.
The intent of this poster contest is to increase awareness and to educate new and future automobile drivers to watch for motorcycles and to share the road.
Each Massachusetts high school student is eligible to submit one poster. Each high school will choose its best submission and then mail it to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, where it will be judged by our panel. The first prize student will receive a new Gateway computer (up to a $500 value) and the school submitting the first prize entry will receive a $500 gift certificate to New England Office Supply.
- 2nd Place Student will receive a $250 Visa Gift Card.
- 2nd Place School will receive a $250 gift certificate to New England Office Supply.
- 3rd Place Student will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card.
- 3rd Place School will receive a $100 gift certificate to New England Office Supply.
All submissions must be received at the below address no later than February 17, 2005. The winner will be announced no later than May 1, 2005.
The winning poster will be part of our Motorcycle Awareness Campaign for 2005. This means that it will be displayed at our RMV branches and our motorcycle schools. It will be offered to motorcycle dealers and automobile driving schools. It will also be part of our display at all of the events that MREP attends, such as the Motorcycle Expos that are held in West Springfield and Boston and at local events that will be held through the summer.
Thank you very much for your anticipated participation and support. Good luck to your school and school district.
