Registrar Dan Grabauskas announced today that the Registry of Motor Vehicles branch in Milford will increase the number of staff and expand hours of operation.
"I am pleased to offer improved service to the people in the greater Milford area," said Registrar Grabauskas. "It is the little things that make a big difference, by adding one additional employee we can open the branch three days a week without having to close during the lunch hour."
The additional employee enables the branch to remain open during the critical lunch hour when many customers are able to take care of their Registry business. The addition also allows the branch to operate on Fridays.
"The additional day and staff person is certainly welcomed news for Registry customers in Milford and surrounding towns," said Rep. Marie J. Parente (D-Milford). "I look forward to working with Registrar Grabauskas during upcoming budget deliberations to secure the funds necessary to staff a five-day per week operation at the recently expanded Milford office," added Rep. Parente.
"I am happy to hear that the Registry of Motor Vehicles will be providing additional hours at the Milford Registry. It is a major benefit to my constituents as well as businesses such as local driving schools and insurance companies that deal with the Registry," said Senator Richard T. Moore. "They now have better access to services they need and don't need to travel out of town."
Previously the Milford Registry was operating two days a week, closing in mid-afternoon as an opportunity for employees to have lunch. As of Friday April 27, 2001 the Milford branch will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with uninterrupted service from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
The Milford branch is located at 114 Beach Street, Milford. Please visit massrmv.com for directions.
