Registrar Dan Grabauskas today celebrated the grand opening of the Registry Branch at 195 Russell Street (Route 9) in Hadley, recently relocated from 241 King Street, Northampton. The Registrar also announced plans for a new branch office in Easthampton that will serve residents west of the Connecticut River during upcoming construction on the Calvin Coolidge Bridge.
The new Easthampton branch, slated to open later this spring, is located in the Eastworks facility and provides a convenient alternative to residents of Northampton, Westfield, Easthampton and the hill towns wishing to do Registry business.
"I think we have come up with a plan that is convenient for everyone," said Registrar Grabauskas. "We have historically had very good service in this area and with the addition of the new location our customers in the Pioneer Valley can continue to count on efficient and courteous service."
The Hadley Registry branch was dedicated in memory of former Northampton branch Manager, Marcia A. Handy who for twenty-seven years committed herself to serving the people of the Pioneer Valley. Ms. Handy died in July 2000.
