Accelerated Bridge Program Massachusetts Executive Office of transporation

About This Project

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the MBTA are studying public transportation needs and potential improvements in Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan and portions of the South End. The Roxbury / Dorchester / Mattapan (RDM) Transit Needs Study will identify strategies - from improving bus service to building new transit lines - that can guide future investment in the corridor, all with extensive community input. One thing is clear: the success of the study depends heavily on your involvement, your commitment, and your willingness to let your voice be heard. For the rest of this year, we'll be reaching out to you - while you ride the T, at community events, and at public meetings and workshops. We look forward to your input!

Where the Action Is

The RDM Study Area consists primarily of those sections of Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan (as well as a portion of the South End) that are not within walking distance (one half-mile) of rapid transit stations on the MBTA's Red or Orange Lines. For a detailed map of the Study Area, please click:
