This 2011 – 2015 Highway Capital Investment Plan document constitutes MassDOT’s first five-year highway capital investment plan.  Consistent with requirements laid out in Section 11 of Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2009 (An Act Modernizing the Transportation System of the Commonwealth), MassDOT prepared a capital spending plan for its Highway Division.  The plan includes an analysis of the planned sources and uses of funding to be invested in the roads, bridges, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, and ancillary infrastructure of the Commonwealth for Federal Fiscal Years 2011-2015.  Future iterations of the plan will strive to be more multimodal in nature, and will be guided by the results of the weMove Massachusetts statewide strategic transportation planning effort that is currently being conducted by MassDOT’s Office of Transportation Planning.
