Overview

This point datalayer contains the locations of train stations in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This layer differentiates between commuter rail stations and/or Amtrak stations as well as whether or not it is part of the National Highway System (NHS).

Production

The locations of the train stations were digitized from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 1:5000 color orthophoto imagery. Descriptions listed on the MBTA and Amtrak websites were used as aides in the placement of the train station point locations.
