Berkshire Flyer Study

Study Overview

The Berkshire Flyer Study will evaluate the potential for using a New York rail route to establish a seasonal passenger rail service between New York City and the Berkshires, based on the successful example of the CapeFLYER. This study is the result of legislation directing MassDOT to assemble a working group of key stakeholders to provide expertise into studying the potential for initiating new rail service.

The study is to be completed by March, when findings and recommendations are to be submitted to the legislature.
