Project Consultation Session and Public Meeting
River Street Bridge/Western Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 5:30-7:30 PM
Honan-Allston Library, Community Room
300 North Harvard Street
Boston, MA 02134
The purpose of this meeting is to present the River Street Bridge and Western Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project, alternatives being evaluated as part of the design process, and information presented within the Environmental Notification Form (ENF).
The ENF was filed with the MEPA on March 15, 2013. Following an introduction by MEPA staff and a project presentation by MassDOT, MEPA staff will lead a discussion to answer questions on the project and to guide public comment on the ENF and environmental impacts of the project. Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments about the ENF and the project in writing to the MEPA Office by April 16, 2013. Copies of the ENF may be obtained on the project website at www.mass.gov/massdot/charlesriverbridges or by contacting Michael Trepanier at Michael.Trepanier@state.ma.us. Please send copies of comments to MassDOT.
The rehabilitation project described in the ENF is proposed by MassDOT through the Commonwealth’s Accelerated Bridge Program (ABP). The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the structurally deficient arch and overpass bridges to continue to efficiently and safely meet the needs of the traveling public, while maintaining the structural integrity, rehabilitating their historic and cultural resources, and improving the conditions for all users including motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
