MassDOT: Two Central Artery Ramps to be Closed for Saturday Work

BOSTON — Tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 16, MassDOT will close ramp SA-CN (Cross Street to I-93 northbound, “Haymarket Ramp”) and ramp ST-CN (Sumner Tunnel to I-93 northbound) starting at 7am until approximately 10pm.  Work will remove the concrete road surface exiting the SA-CN tunnel as it travels onto the Zakim Bridge cantilever lane and replace it with hot mix asphalt.

Traffic will be detoured north on Cross Street to North Washington Street, across Causeway Street and the North Washington Street Bridge, continuing along Rutherford Avenue to Sullivan Square, rejoining I-93 northbound north of Sullivan Square. Police details will be in place.

After reviewing Saturday’s work, a schedule will be created with the City of Boston to lessen any impacts to the traveling public for the additional surface work from the Tunnel exit to the Zakim Bridge on I-93 northbound.  MassDOT will provide further schedule details and updates as they become available. (Work will be performed on weekends, excluding the weekend prior to the July 4th Holiday.)
