On Saturday, October 26, 2013, beginning at 8 AM and continuing through 8 PM, there will be multiple lane closures on the section of Route 128 South/I-93 North in the area between Ponkapoag Trail (Exit 3) and Route 24 (Exit 4) in Milton and Randolph to allow work crews to complete roadway paving operations.
A minimum of two travel lanes will be open between 8 AM and 12 Noon.
A minimum of three travel lanes will be open between 12 Noon and 8:00 PM.
The ramp from I-93 North Route 24 South (Exit 4) will be restricted to one lane during the majority of the time the work is being completed.
Appropriate signs, channelizing devices and traffic control measures will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.
MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, to avoid delays. Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling near or through the work zone.
The work is part of a $53.7 million project to widen a 5.5 mile section of Route I-93/Route I-95/ Route 128 between Randolph and Westwood to provide an additional travel lane in each direction.
