The following detour routes were carefully developed by the project team with input from stakeholders. MassDOT has made improvements to signal timing along detour routes as-needed to facilitate the flow of traffic during construction. Key intersections will be monitored during the tunnel closure by traffic engineers and police.

If traveling from south of Boston, you can continue to take the Ted Williams Tunnel to and from Logan Airport/East Boston.
Vehicles heading to points south via I-93 Southbound may want to avoid traffic detoured onto Albany Street. MassDOT has opened up access to an express route to I-93 to all vehicles, regardless of occupancy.
