Purpose:

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed intersection improvement project. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

The proposed project extends on Haverhill Street from Holton Street to Shawmut Street and includes the installation of a fully-actuated traffic signal; striping of an exclusive left-turn lane for the Haverhill Street westbound approach; striping of a 5-foot bike lane on Haverhill Street westbound; reconstructed cement concrete sidewalks with accessible curb ramps; sidewalk bump-outs on the Ames Street northbound approach; drainage system upgrades; pavement rehabilitation; and new pavement markings and signage.

A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required.
